Dear Running Shoe Companies

Not every woman likes her running shoes to look like a My Little Pony threw up all over them. How 'bout you try offering a few more gray, blue, green and yellow options?

And don't do that thing where you make the blue pastel and the green all minty. Loophole closed.

Sincerely,
Jen Sinkler

Precisely why I nikeid my sneaks. Sometimes my color selections aren't always perfect, but hey we're not perfect at everything.

I got a pair of Nike free in grey. I heart them.

Lol. I don't mind pink, but I'm NOT a fan of pastels. I'm running, not out picking flowers in a field!

Personally, I'm just curious what, exactly, a My Little Pony would throw up - I mean, they eat stars and rainbows or something right? I think Jen is right that it's colorful, but what does a rainbow look like when you vomit it up? Anyone out there ever eaten a 1 lb. bag of Skittles and care to enlighten us?

Ditto for men's shoes. There are some weird color combos out there. Or maybe I'm getting old?

amen sister! and god bless!

This is why I tend to buy men's running shoes as they are usually dark blue, grey, black or the ever fun yellow! I can't remember the last time I bought a pair of women's shoes...I can't train wearing pink, or any shade of pastel really!

Pam,
I woulda, but I wanted the Nike Free Cross-Trainers (so I don't bust out of them in CrossFit!). I didn't realize they made cross-training Frees till yesterday -- and eventually I found a pair without a "chlorine" swoop. Score!

Did I tell you I had a panicky moment in the drugstore the other day when I couldn't find the Mitchum SmartSolid? I thought I'd done us in, but alas, it was just on the top shelf. Where it belongs!

Alice,
I was thisclose to getting those.

FBG,
Although those *would* be good for picking flowers ... I think you're onto something.

Kate,
I'm pretty sure My Little Ponies eat Care Bears. So that's what you're seeing on the way up.

Michael,
True, you guys do have to deal with all that black and red. Touche.

Bean,
Hallelujah!

Wendy,
That's what most of my friends do, but I tend to stick to a particular shoe because I know it works for me (until they stop making it, that is). So, because I try to replicate the experience as closely as possible each time, I'm at the mercy of whatever colors are available at the time. I'm afraid there will be something different about the men's version -- maybe they'll be too wide, or the arch will be different. Basically what I'm saying is I let fear of change control my life. ;)

I like gray...and black...and blue

Black and blue...odd...does that mean I like to get beat up?

I'll stick with men's shoes too (but that only makes sense, right?).

You did not tell me about your moment of panic however I feel better now that I know you found it, I have been striking out. So much so that when I was in MN and at the store I saw it and bought two.

The free 7.0s work well for working out and running, it's the 5.0s that cause some problems, I'll have to check out the cross trainers.

My Mizunos are nice and subtle. Mostly white, which turns dirt color with one muddy run. So, that's my solution for all those who hate their Care Bear barf-colored shoes. Hit the trails!

Ah... I'm boring. I buy whichever color is cheapest. Which usually means whatever color combo didn't sell well last season. I don't dig pink sneaks either but alas my current pair are "petal and lightening". Guess I'd better not run in a rainstorm! Thanks for the giggle Jen!

OMG those are hideous! I found the roughly the same pair in a nice black, but guess what...they are meant for the mens.

I should add that I bought them, because I don't gender-discriminate when it comes to footwear.
