Loved the Sunday NYT article on 41-year-old swimming phenom Dara Torres, "A Swimmer of a Certain Age." The results of the Olympic Trials this Saturday will determine if Torres will compete in her fifth Olympics (good lord, and she even skipped two). Got opinions on the is-she-or-isn't-she-doping debate?
(Torres was also on the April cover of Experience Life; for editor Laine Bergeson's interview with her, click here.)

Whether or not she is, will of course be determined later. I just find it depressing that we always dig for the 'something else' explanation when a fellow human being does something that just may be down right 'super-human-like'.
I'm rooting for her!
I hope not.
I don't follow swimming, but I love to see a 41 year old woman kick ass.
I'm rooting for her, too! I appreciated how the NYT article pointed out that there are plenty of examples of older athletes breaking records and performing incredibly well.
Also, I meant to mention it in my original post, but the theme of the July/August issue of Experience Life is Fit For a Lifetime -- seems especially relevant to this post.
A case-in-point article on fitness, aging and reinventing the rules:
"Fitter Than You: Three 50-plus Athletes Who Can Kick Your Butt."
Im rooting for her in a BIG WAY, but after my experience owning a business where I interacted often with fitness competitors Im slightly a cynic.
GH is far too prevalent from the couples next door to athletes.
And ... she's in! From the NYT: "At Age 41, Torres Qualifies for Fifth Games"
